Benue NNPP distances self from IPAC’s allegations against Gov Alia

Date:

The Benue State chapter of New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has dissociated itself from a press conference held by the Coalition of Political Parties and the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, where they levelled allegations of insecurity against the Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia led administration in the state.

Benue State Acting Chairman of NNPP Innocent Oche Abah made the disclosure in a chat with journalists in his office on Monday May 27, 2024, in Makurdi.

He said the press conference by IPAC was misguided as it was not a representation of the position of the leadership of Benue NNPP.

He further explained that IPAC is an advisory body of all registered political parties created to ensure stability within the parties and guarantee smooth and sustainable inter and intra party relations and not to take sides against any member political party.

He said the party was not involved in the press conference where allegation of insecurity in Benue was levelled against the Governor Alia administration by the coalition of political parties.

Abah added that the stunning allegations of insecurity in the state does not reflect the efforts of the administration to stem the tide of insecurity in the state.

“We are all here in the State and have seen significant improvement in the security situation since the Governor Alia administration came in.

“People can now sleep with their two eyes closed except for the rural areas where we still see pockets of attacks but believe the governor will also put this to a stop soon.

“NNPP was not part of the press conference by the coalition of parties and IPAC where allegations of insecurity were allegedly levelled against the Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia administration.

“NNPP is behind Father Alia in his effort to rescue the Benue masses from the hands of the oppressors,” he said.

Abah urged IPAC and other stakeholders to be cautious about the allegations they make about insecurity in Benue State.
