Mr Israel Ayeni, the New Nigeria People groups Party, NNPP governorship up-and-comer in the November 16 political decision in Ondo State, has removed from the race.
Ayeni got the party’s ticket by surveying 100 votes to overcome his only adversary, Prof. Ibrahim Ajagunna, at the party’s primary on April 26.
Ayeni, in his letter of withdrawal made available to journalists on Wednesday in Akure, said his withdrawal was in light of a legitimate concern for the party.
” I, Ayeni, Oluwatosin Israel, a governorship competitor of NNPP for the November 16, 2024 election in Ondo State, thusly deliberately pull out my bid from the challenge.
“My withdrawal is to the greatest advantage of our extraordinary party, NNPP,” the letter read.
Additionally, Mr Peter Olagookun, the NNPP State Chairman, who affirmed the withdrawal of the applicant, said that Ayeni energetically pulled out his application to give way for better appointment of the party.
Olagookun, who addressed NAN on the phone, said there would be a replacement governorship essential of the party on Wednesday.
He stated that the party’s new candidacy would boost its chances of winning the state’s upcoming governorship election.
