A Federal High Court in Abuja has declared as invalid the Peoples Democratic Party’s primary election that produced Asue Ighodalo as its governorship candidate.
The primary election conducted on February 22, 2024, was voided on the ground that 378 representatives who should cast a ballot at the essential political decision were unlawfully prohibited by PDP.
In his ruling on a lawsuit brought by the disgruntled delegates, Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo declared the primary election illegal.
The suit checked THC/ABJ/CS/165/2024 was established by one Hon Kelvin Mohammed in a delegate limit.
Equity Ekwo held that both the arrangements of the Appointive Demonstration 2022 and the PDP Rules were terribly abused in the lead of the essential political decision at the Samuel Ogbemudia arena in Benin.
