Jigawa police recover stolen cows from rustler’s residence

The Jigawa State Police Command has said that its operatives have successfully traced and recovered three cows suspected to be stolen from the residence of a suspected cattle rustler, one Muktari Ibrahim.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Shiisu Lawan Adam, disclosed this in a statement.

He said the 23-year-old received by the authorities.

“On November 13, 2023, at approximately 8:00 am, Umar Musa (20 years old) and Idris Ismail (30 years old) from Malamawa village, Kiyawa LGA, reported to the Kiyawa Divisional Police Headquarters that unknown thieves had conspired and trespassed into their houses at around 3:00 am the same day, stealing three cows valued at N1,150,000.00,” DSP Shiitu said.

He pointed out that during questioning, Muktari Ibrahim revealed that he had received the stolen cows from one Yusuf, who was still at large.

He added that the recovered cows had since been released on bond to their rightful owners, stressing that the police authorities were actively intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

He said the suspects would be charged to court to face the full consequences of their actions.
